Guj: Man injured as lions attack him

A villager was injured while a cow owned by him was killed when a group of six lions and cubs entered their house and attacked them in Umedpara village in Junagadh district early Wednesday, forest officials said.
One - Ambabhai Donga sustained injuries to his leg, while one of his cows succumbed to the attack by the cubs.
The injured was rushed to hospital, officials said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Conservator of Forest, Gir national Park, Anshuman Sharma told reporters that they were devising strategies to tackle the lion menace in the village and to safeguard the people and the livestock.
It had frequently come to their notice that of late the wild cats were freely roaming in the area, causing fear among the residents.
