Many wild animals expected dead in Satrunji River floods

Divya Bhaskar (Brief translation from Gujarati)

So far two lions have been reported died due to flash floods in Shetrunji River. But sources say that there is possibility of 3- 5 more lion and many other animals mortality. A lioness that was found last week, was said to be mother of two cubs and were staying around Chandgadh village. These two cubs are still found missing and may have died due to floods. Looking to the situation, Forest Dept. has decided to count lions and other animals in this area.

Dead body of male lion found two days back had only 14 claws on it. When contacted, R M Patel (RFO) said that missing 4 claws may have been lost when the lion would have tried to save its life in the floods.
