Five transferred, two more forest officials rounded up in Lions killings in Gujarat

In yet another attempt to send signals that the government is serious about the problem of poaching in Gir forest, the government transferred some officers and police picked up two more forest staffers in the case of lions killings. 

 

Junagadh DFO Bhaskar Shukla has been transferred to Gandhinagar while B P Patti from Banaskantha has been put in his his place. V J Rana from Gandhinagar has been posted in Dhari. Deputy Municipal Commissioner Ahmedabad, Randhawa has been posted as DFO Junagadh. Randhwa was on deputation with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. 

 

Police investigating the killings of lions in the Gir forest has rounded up two forest officials, it is learnt. One of them is retired Range Forest Officer while another is a beat guard.

 

Police have also seized claws of lions from the residences of these persons. Earlier, on Monday one forest staff was detained. The two detained today are retired RFO A Makrani and the beat guard Razak Baloch.
