I just received the great news from Mr. Harry Marshall of Icon Films, Bristol, UK that Gir lion film The Last Lions of India has won the merit award for conservation message at International Film Festival. (The forwarded email is attached). Icon Films has won other awards also in the IWFF.

I take this opportunity to whole heartedly congratulate and thank each and every one at Gir for their valuable contribution and invaluable time not only during the filming but also from planning stage to final editing.

I also feel proud to be a part of the team. Best wishes and warm regards.

Bhushan Pandya.

Dear Mick and Patrick

Thanks for letting us know about the Montana IWFF award for Last Lions of India. .

I have passed this news on to all our friends in India and Gujarat and in the Gir Forest - who will all be thrilled.

“The story of the Asiatic Lions is one of the great conservation success stories of Indian Wildlife - indeed of international conservation.

Great sacrifices and simply grinding hard work were necessary to make the lions’ recovery possible.

Awards like this remind those people in the field who made it possible that the world is watching and that it deeply cares and admires their achievements - and this really matters.”

With best wishes and thanks

Harry Marshall – CEO, Icon Films – UK
